Himalayan Pink Salt has many benefits over regular table salt. This salt contains minerals, potassium, magnesium, and calcium. Himalayan Pink Salt has been used to remove toxins, regulate blood sugar and hormonal balance, and enhance the digestion system.


Cooking with Himalayan Salt Dr. Joyce Starr

  1. Add a pinch or two of salt to boiling water to reduce cooking time. Salt helps water boil at a higher temperature.

  2. Add a touch of salt to your salad immediately after preparation.

  3. Soak apples and pears in lightly salted water to prevent browning.

  4. Soak pecans in salt water for several hours before shelling. The pecan meat will separate easily from the shells.

  5. Vegetables: Mix a tablespoon of salt in a quart of filtered water. Rinse your vegetables several times with the solution.

  6. Poached Eggs: Sprinkle a half teaspoon of salt into water before cooking to even the edges of poached eggs.

  7. Wood Cutting Boards: Scrub with a damp cloth and a handful of salt. Wood cutting boards will be brighter, cleaner and also smell fresher.

  8. Wok: Cast-iron woks often rust when you wash them in water. Don't wash your wok like a dish or regular pan. Rather, while your wok is still hot, pour in a quarter cup of salt and scrub it with a stiff wire brush. Wipe clean and apply a light coating of sesame or vegetable oil before storing it away. Caution: Please do not use this approach on a non-stick surface, as it could scratch the coating!
